QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum of a high school diploma and/or equivalent.  Ability to express self clearly and effectively in oral and written communication; ability to work independently and the ability to function within a team.  Must be 23 years of age and have a valid Alabama Driving License and a clean driving record.  Have an understanding of the state Mental Health System and the Code of Ethics within the state MHS.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

CPS provides peer support services; serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and peer support for consumers in a variety of settings.  The CPS performs tasks to support consumers in living their lives and directing their own recovery and wellness process.

Support consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness.

Complete an Individual Recovery/Resiliency Plan.

Support consumers in creating a Wellness Recovery Action Plan.

Utilize their unique recovery experience.

Conduct independent living training.

Assist consumer in preparing a Person-Centered plan.

Have an understanding of the recovery process.
